The moonlight shines down
With the stars twinkling
Through the hole in the tent
The light dances across
A decoration
Hung above the bed
Willow, sage, and sinew
With beads and feathers adorning
Helping protect the owner
The bead in the web
Grandmother Spider
Watching over
The hole in the center
Lets the sweet dreams
Float through
The webbing
Catches the nightmares
Not letting them pass
And Grandmother Spider
Continues to watch
A smile creeps
Across the child’s face
As a quaint little dream
Flits through their head
And Grandmother Spider
Beams as she watches
Then rests
For morning is soon coming
And her job will be done for the night
And the hoop
Continues to let pass
The child’s innocent dreams
