When you are young

Everyone is your friend

You just know

You will be friends forever

And nothing could change it

Then you get older

People move

And people change

You drift apart

From friends you thought

Would last forever

Some friends you will keep

And others you will lose

A few might even become enemies

But you are changing too

So you might or might not care

Some will lie

Some will have your back

Some will break your heart

Some will have your heart

And that is just that

Eventually you will graduate

And some may move away

You might only keep talking

To a few of your friends

But you are moving on

You will meet new people

Make new friends

Start your career

Maybe find that special someone

You will start making your way

Every once in a while

You will look back

Life when you were young

And you will realize how much has changed
