Life's Fairytale

As a little girl
I always believed in love
It was like a fairytale

One day
I knew I would find my prince
We would marry
And live happily ever after
And he would treat me as his princess

Then I grew up
I learned life is not a fairytale
I have trouble believing in happily ever after

I try to search for my prince
But there are too many frogs
And too many witches casting their love spells
No one falls
For the princess anymore

I have bitten into
Enough poisoned apples
And kissed too many frogs

I want a guy to show me
They are not all frogs
There really still are princes
They do not all give into the spells
Some fall for the princess

I do not even need a prince
But a goofy knight in shining armor
That would be nice

I want my guy to show me
Sometimes the right people
End up together
Sometimes life has happily ever after
Life is a fairytale
