“Oh, I can’t believe how long it’s been. You’ve grown so much since the last time I saw you,” her grandmother said while hugging her.
“Where’s Christie?” Megan asked,” I thought she was coming with you.”
“She decided to stay home, at your Aunt Diana’s. She thought we should get some time to catch up first. She said she’d come and hang out tomorrow. She wants you to meet some of her friends too.”
“Ok, that sounds cool.”
“Well, here we are. Home sweet home,” Grandma said.
“Did you paint the living room?” Megan asked, “I thought I remembered it being blue.”
“Yes, I did paint it. I didn’t like that shade of blue. I decided I liked this dark green instead.”
“I really like it Grandma, its pretty. It looks really nice, since you have all these plants around.”
“I thought so too.”
“If you follow me I’ll show you which room you’ll be staying in,” Grandma said.
The room was a deep, deep blue with black curtains. “Sorry it’s so dark, Sweetie. But I haven’t gotten a chance to paint it yet. I usually don’t have anyone visit anymore, so this was the last room I was going to paint.”
“It’s ok. I can live with it for a couple of months,” Megan said.
“Well, I’m going to go make dinner. You’re probably starving after that long flight,” Grandma said.
“Yea, I guess I am pretty hungry.”
Megan looked around; the room was dark and dreary. Really it’s just creepy she thought. Oh, well. I’m only going to be here for a couple of months. I wish it wasn’t so long.
“Dinner’s ready!” Grandma called from the kitchen downstairs.
“Coming,” Megan yelled.
