“I’ve missed you sooo much!” Christie said the next day when she came over.
“I’ve really missed you too,” Megan said excitedly, “I can’t believe it’s only been two years.”
“I know me neither. It seems more like it’s been five,” Christie groaned.
“Either way it has been way to long.”
“Let’s head to the park. I told some of my friends that we’d meet them by the fountain,” Christie said enthusiastically.
The two set out down the street headed for the park.
“This is Skyler, Tasha, Brittany, Andrew, Daniel,” Christie went through and introduced each of her friends, “and this is Sam. Everyone this is my cousin Megan.”
When Sam stepped out to be introduced, Megan thought her heart was going to stop. His smile was amazing and he had brown hair with the biggest blue eyes that she had ever seen.
“He’ll never like a girl like me,” Megan thought to herself. Megan was medium height with long brown hair and brown eyes. She knew that most guys liked tall blondes with blue eyes, or at least guys at her school did.
“Hi, I’m Sam. It’s nice to meet you,” when he spoke it snapped her back into reality.
“Hi. It’s nice to meet you too,” Megan said shyly. The two just stood there, not speaking; like they had some secret between them that only they knew and wanted to savor it just a little longer.
“Well, since these two have totally stopped talking and are completely ignoring us; why don’t we go walk around,” Christie said, “These two can just keep standing here like a couple of idiots.”
“Sorry. I was just thinking about something,” Sam mumbled.
“Yeah, me too. I just spaced out that’s all,” Megan uttered.
The rest of the group set off while Megan and Sam stayed behind. “They are cute together. And they seem to really like each other,” Tasha whispered to Christie while they were walking away.
“I told you they would be,” Christie giggled.
“I’ve known Sam since we were in diapers. We are like brothers and I’ve never even seen him this happy before,” Andrew said.
