Chapter 10

The weeks and months flew right by. It was the day before Megan had to leave for
home. She didn’t want to go home at all. She was actually having a lot of fun on this trip; much more fun than she had expected.

She woke up that morning and slowly climbed out of bed. Megan slumped down the stairs and to the kitchen for breakfast.

“Honey, why do you look so sad?” Grandma asked when Megan sat down at the table with a plate of waffles.

“I don’t want to go home tomorrow. I’m having a great time hanging out with you and Christie,” Megan replied sleepily.

“Are you sure it’s Christie and me you’ll miss? I think a certain boy by the name of Sam is the one you’ll be missing!” Grandma winked at her.

“I’ll miss him too. But I’m serious; I really will miss you, Christie, and Aunt Diana.”

“I know you will. I’m just picking. And I got to thinking, if you decide you want to visit more, we could paint that room you’re staying in. Any color choices?”

“Can we really paint it?”

“You get to pick how we redesign that room. It’s your room now.”

“Thank you so much, Grandma. Can we paint it light green and orange? With a white and orange striped curtain?”

“If that’s what you want. I’ll go to the store later and by the stuff to redo it.”

“You’re the best grandmother ever!” Megan beamed.

Megan got up and put her plate into the sink. She went upstairs so she could get ready. She was going to go tell Christie and Sam goodbye.

“I’m going to miss Sam so much,” Megan thought as she was doing her hair and makeup. “I wonder how much he’ll miss me. Maybe he won’t miss me at all. I’m so confused.”

She finished getting dressed. She decided to go casual since she was just saying goodbye; it wasn’t like the first date.
