The couple walked down the street looking into the window of a store every once in a while. They laughed and talked about anything and everything they could think of. People were staring at them like they were nuts but they did not even notice. They were happy and carefree. They ended up taking a walk around the park. It was a gorgeous night; the stars were out and the moon was full.
They walked over to the fountain and Sam leaned against the little fence that surrounded it. Megan suddenly shivered. She hadn’t realized how cool it was out. She had no coat on either to shield her from the chilly wind. Sam must have noticed her shiver because he suddenly wrapped his jacket around her and pulled her next to him.
I never would’ve thought that I would be standing here next to an amazing guy like Sam while visiting my grandmother, Megan thought to herself. Then she was snapped out of her thoughts by Sam’s voice.
“You look beautiful in the moonlight,” he whispered in her ear. “More beautiful than all the stars put together or the sky at sunset on a clear, cloudless day.”
Megan had no idea of what to say. What he had told her had taken her breath away. It was the sweetest thing she had ever heard in her entire life.
She tried to gather her thoughts, tried to think of something to say but couldn’t. The words would not come. As she was thinking Sam grabbed her chin and made her face him. Then he kissed her. It was the most wonderful thing that Megan had ever felt. It wasn’t just a kiss either, it was her first kiss.
