Chapter 8

“So what movie are we seeing?” Megan asked curiously even though she could care less which movie he wanted to see. She just liked being with him.

“I thought we could see The Haunting in Connecticut,” Sam said.

“Isn’t that supposed to be scary though?”

“It’s not real, just a movie. And don’t worry; I’ll protect you,” he grinned.

“Alright then. Let’s go.”

They found a couple of seats in the middle of the theater and sat down. They had gotten a medium sized popcorn, Sour Patch Kids, Twizzlers, and an Orange Crush.

Megan looked around the theater. There seemed to be quite a few couples. Only some groups and a couple of families were there.

The movie was one of the scariest Megan had ever seen; which wasn’t saying a lot since she never watched horror movies much. She got so scared at one point that she covered her eyes and leaned into Sam. He didn’t seem to mind so every time a really scary part happened, she would lean into him and he would wrap his arm around her.

“That movie was so scary. I think it’s the scariest I’ve ever seen,” Megan said after the movie.

“I could tell you thought it was scary by the way you leaned into me. And the whimpering helped to figure that out too,” Sam teased.

“Oh shut up!” she said and gave him a little push.

“Why don’t we take a walk down Main Street while we’re here?”

“That sounds like fun.”

And off they went.
